About Judith Otter

Nonprofit Executive & Strategic Advisor

I am a nonprofit executive and strategic advisor with more than 15 years of proven performance in the nonprofit sector, serving in executive roles since 2010. My work has focused on helping mission-driven organizations grow thoughtfully, strengthen leadership and governance, and scale impact with clarity and purpose.

Throughout my career, I have partnered closely with boards, founders, and executive teams to navigate periods of growth, transition, and increasing organizational complexity—bringing a steady, relationship-driven approach grounded in real-world leadership experience.

Executive Leadership Experience

Most recently, I served as President of the Robert Irvine Foundation, leading the organization through a period of significant growth and evolution. During my tenure, the Foundation expanded its national footprint, strengthened its fundraising and partnership strategy, and deepened its impact in support of military members, veterans, first responders, and their families.

Previously, I served as Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer of the Gary Sinise Foundation, working alongside founder Gary Sinise from the organization’s inception through its formative years of growth. I helped establish the Foundation’s structure, strategy, and operational foundation—supporting its mission to honor and support our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, and their families.

My broader executive experience also includes leading and advising philanthropic and mission-driven initiatives focused on long-term social impact, organizational growth, and strategic alignment. This work has involved collaboration with boards, founders, and partners across sectors and, at times, highly visible and founder-led organizations—where discretion, trust, and thoughtful governance are essential.

While executive leadership has been my primary focus in recent years, advisory and consulting work has long been a part of my professional practice. Earlier in my career—and now again selectively—I have supported nonprofits and philanthropic initiatives with fundraising strategy, organizational development, strategic partnerships, and leadership transitions.

Today, I work with a small number of organizations each year, typically through advisory, interim, or project-based engagements formed by referral. These partnerships are designed to provide focused, senior-level support during moments that matter most.

Advisory & Consulting Work

My approach is collaborative, pragmatic, and grounded in experience. Having served both as an executive leader and as an advisor, I understand the realities organizations face when balancing vision, accountability, and execution.

I am known for clear strategic guidance, strong relationship-building, and a calm, steady presence during periods of change. Clients and partners value discretion, clarity, and trusted partnership—particularly when navigating growth, transition, or increased visibility.
